I know, its an old show but due to recent series finale fail of Game of thrones got me to the list of shows whose finale failed to impress the audience, and Dexter was on that list. Even though Game of thrones sucked towards the end it does not change the fact that its earlier seasons were very much enjoyable. Plus, I have rewatched them. So, Here goes my first review of Dexter S01E01.
There are few more important characters. His sister who is in police. Sgt. Doakes who is very suspicious of Dexter. Lt. Maria who has a crush on Dexter. And, Rita Dexter's girlfriend.
Another story goes parallelly with Dexter's life. A killer who freezes the body parts and cuts them neatly. Dexter figures out this killer must have a mobile freezer which is like a truck and soon, coincidentally, encounters it on the road. He follows it until the truck reaches a closed bridge. After that the truck takes a U turn and drops a severed head which was missing. Dexter calls the police to let them know. At the end of the episode, when Dexter reaches his home, the killer cuts a doll just like he cut the body parts and puts them in Dexter's refrigerator. Dexter does not feel violated or concerned but he feels entertained and interested and decides to play the game.
I think Dexter is like a superhero or anti-superhero who uses his skills and abilities as a psychopath to kill the bad guys. Like superman has heat-vision, super strengths etc. Dexter has no feelings, skills taught by his father. In addition, he is charming, socially likeable, ability to lie easily etc which psychopaths have naturally. I am loving it so far and I am interested to see the game between Dexter and freezer killer in the episodes to come. Until then I am AJSlizzle and thanks for reading my blog.
Dexter is a forensic blood spatter analyst and a psychopath. A good psychopath meaning he quenches his thirst to kill by killing bad guys. His father taught him to do that by leaving no trace. On the first episode, Dexter kills two bad guys, a pedophile and rapist. Both of these guys were killers as well. I think Batman said, "Killing a killer does not decrease the number of killers". I am not sure if that's the right quote but Dexter kills more than one so maybe he is doing something good. But, who can judge who deserves to live or die. I don't know.
